Plasmon is a leader in professional data storage solutions, providing the industry’s strongest line of archival storage technologies, including UDO (Ultra Density Optical) drives and media, optical libraries, and storage management software. We currently have an opening for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer located in the Broomfield, Colorado area.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities The Technical Sales Engineer will assist Plasmon Inside and Outside Regional sales teams and channel partners with key technical knowledge in support of presales opportunities, including system configurations, business re-engineering studies, integration feasibility analysis, technical aspects of proposals, product presentations and demonstrations. This role will also provide technical guidance to other consultants, hardware and software partners, and integration teams, in the completion of complex engagement tasks or solutions, review and approve client deliverables and technical strategies.

Requirements
Requirements • Demonstrated knowledge of NAS/SAN and connectivity architectures • Strategic planning abilities. Ability to build technical credibility (customer believes in recommended solutions and wants to maintain an ongoing relationship) and balances Plasmon’s revenue goals with long term customer requirements. • Superior verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills. Ability to articulate market trends, business solutions and presentations at the CIO/VP level; clearly translate technical information to persons with various levels of technical competencies. • Hands-on, flexible, adaptable individual who thrives in a diverse, fast paced, technical environment.

Qualifications
Education and Experience • B.S. or M.S. degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience • 5+ years in a technical sales support role; understanding of storage management software; experience in storage market, removable and/or automation preferred; Archive storage a plus • Strong working knowledge with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, e-mail and telephone) • Good communication skills • Extensive travel, often on short notice.
