Senior Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer

Our client renovates and modernizes facilities, process systems and utility projects for commercial, industrial and institutional clients including government agencies. The company offers energy modeling and designing, construction as well as commissioning of HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) and lighting systems. Founded in 1976, they operate nationwide, serving clients that include the US Armed Forces, the US Energy and Justice Departments, schools, corporations and government bodies.

Responsibilities
|
| 1) Develop projects in specific regard to engineering scope of work, budget and schedule
2) Prepare engineering contract documents following established office standards
3) Select materials, equipment and other components
4) Handle code analysis and compliance of project designs
5) Plan layout of the project and interface with other disciplines to integrate all project elements into unified design for client review and approval
6) Prepare project estimates
7) Perform technical and coordination checking of project documents
8) Handle designing/selection of piping, ductwork, pumps, boilers and control systems
9) Prepare contract drawings and specs |
Requirements
|
| 1) BS/MS in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
2) P. Eng. license
3) Minimum 10 years of designing experience
4) Experience in supervising or overseeing staff and junior design engineers
5) Experience in managing design projects
6) Familiarity with USBGC LEED program and experience in high performance building projects is a plus
7) Expertise in HVAC design project leadership/management including technical expertise in designing HVAC and controls systems for buildings
