Sr Designer
Toolbox Studios is an award-winning branding firm optimized for middle market companies in need of marketing discipline and organization. We specialize in creative solutions for highly complex marketing challenges and are a single source for strategy, design and production services.
The mission of the Senior Designer is to provide conceptual and design skills, leadership and training for graphic arts and visual communication materials. In this capacity you will drive the effort to translate concepts and information into creative solutions. The Senior Designer is a member of the creative team, is able to work autonomously, reports to the Creative Director and assists in training and developing the skills of junior designers. This role is based at the Toolbox Studios headquarters in San Antonio, TX.
Toolbox Studios: Senior Designer
Responsibilities:
o Apply sound design principles and technique to create communications solutions for advertisements, editorial and business publications, identity and collateral, promotions, Web sites and interactive media.
o Assist senior creative management in the development of junior designers including but not limited to software training, mentoring in art direction, photography direction, press checks, the creation of design rationales and client presentation skills.
o Generate concepts that can be successfully executed in multiple media.
o Consult with Account Manager, Creative Director and/or client to evaluate individual project needs.
o Coordinate project pre-planning between Account Manager, art buyer and selected vendors.
o Prepare design-related project cost estimate within quality specifications, budget constraints and time schedule.
o Prepare and present comprehensive layouts and presentation boards with accompanying rationale as needed, for supervisor or client.
o Select, supervise and obtain cost estimates from outside vendors such as photographers, illustrators, paper suppliers, or printers.
Required Skills/Experience:
o 7+ years relevant experience.
o Demonstrated track record of success creatively.
o Expertise with Mac and PC versions of Adobe CS3, Microsoft Office, Entourage/Outlook and FTP client applications.
o Proven savvy for driving tangible results in a progressive environment.
o Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
o Excellent business math abilities.
o Excellent reasoning abilities.
o Bachelor's degree from an accredited, four-year university in a related discipline.
