Senior Counsel Litigation - In House
Senior Counsel Litigation Duties: The candidate will work in corporate headquarters in Montvale, New Jersey. Will be interested in conducting and managing a large array of civil litigation matters in a supportive in-house environment. The position will report to the Vice President Legal Services. The primary focus of the position involves the conduct and management of a broad portfolio of litigation matters ranging from labor and employment litigation, collection matters and real estate litigation to commercial litigation and regulatory compliance matters. Primary responsibilities in area shall include hands-on"" litigation of a significant volume of civil matters in-house, including the filing of pleadings, the conduct of discovery and motion practice, and the trial or settlement of matters. The proactive management of outside counsel including the development of case strategy, litigation plans, case budgets, cost management, and procuring the early resolution of cases through alternative dispute resolution ; evaluating and managing the company's e-discovery preparedness project and making recommendations to management on a uniform approach to responding to e-discovery requests in litigation matters. Applying innovative problem solving skills and business judgment to resolve issues, avoid litigation and settle disputes. Respond to subpoena duces tecum and other third party requests from the government entities and private litigants. Prepare and lead internal training sessions for executives and other members of senior management on various legal and compliance topics. Will also be assigned special projects on an ""as needed"" basis to provide general commercial legal support to the Company in matters beyond the counsel's designated areas of responsibility. Requirements: The candidate must possess a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and must be admitted to practice law in the States of New York and New Jersey.
