Purpose of the Job:
To ensure the functioning of the CGGV Crawley Processing Operation in terms of Functioning Electrical Power Supply, Maintenance and Support of all Electrical Distribution and Systems and Equipment as well as Plant Services and Ventilation/Air Conditioning Equipment and Systems plus Replacements, Improvements and Extensions to such Systems.

To provide advice and assistance to Management in ensuring sufficient capacity in all such systems mentioned above to enable the on-going operation and expansion of the business.

Roles and Responsibilities:
? Manages for availability; the Site Power Systems; from 11,000Volt Supply through Transformers, Changeover Switchgear, 2MW Generator to Internal Power Distribution, UPS Systems, to Computer Room and or Offices.

? Ensures the Power Systems are Phase balanced and makes changes to Site Power Systems and distribution to support changes in Systems & Computer Equipment.

? Provides Technical advice to Management; with regard to implications of changes/alterations such as the effects of new equipment on distribution loadings, phase balance and power system capacity.

? Ensures all Power Systems are correctly maintained, tested, labelled and available.

? Manage infrastructure replacement electrical systems installation projects (to value circa £1mill).

? Identify Define & Manage small projects to approximate value of circa £30,000/£50,000.

? Carry out diagnostic, fault finding, repair and maintenance tasks.

? Work across trade barriers to cover other trades as and when necessary.

? Perform calculations, equipment specification, equipment selection, system layout and contract administration

? Provide technical and general support for projects through all phases; including, but not limited to, requirements gathering, design development, construction, and commissioning and testing

? Develop operating standards and procedures for new and existing data centre electrical support infrastructure

? Regularly review with the Facilities Manager the status of all data centre projects.
? To work overtime when necessary to support operational needs.

? Provide On-call support out of normal hours (by telephone). On occasions you may be called upon to attend site out of hours to investigate a fault or respond to any given situation.

? Manages, arranges for and supervises Maintenance Contractors on site ensuring all Safety Measures are in place with suitable Permits to Work before any work commences.

? Ensure Health and Safety Standards and Procedures are adhered to at all times (Work with Contractors to ensure their compliance regarding our Health and Safety requirements).

• This position includes responsibility for and the management of the duties of the Facilities Technician and their personal development whose duties include but are not limited to: re-lamping, water hygiene monitoring, small plumbing tasks and various janitorial duties.

Must Have’s:
? Have a flexible working approach and be able to respond to the requests/demands of the business

? Be able to use the email and calendar functions of MS Outlook, plus Microsoft Office Suite software.

? Good document management is essential

? A good understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace is essential
Qualifications:
Recognised Apprenticeship training scheme plus:
? City and Guilds 2357-13 Level 3 NVQ diploma in installing electro technical systems and equipment

or the equivalent

? City & Guilds 2330 Technical Certificate In Electro technical Technology level 2
? City & Guilds 2330 Technical Certificate In Electro technical Technology level 3

and

? City and Guilds 2382-10 - 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
? JIB Electrotechnical Certification Scheme Registered
