Enterprise Accountant I
Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The Enterprise Accountant I is responsible for applying accounting principles to assist in the preparation and processing of accounting transactions, prepare schedules to analyze information, and assist in creating Financial reports. Principle Accountabilities: Applies knowledge of accounting principles to activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts and developing Financial statements and reports. Perform month/quarter/annual close activities which may include preparing vouchers, keying journal entries, performing calculations, preparing journal entries, and resolving issues as needed. Establish and maintain accurate Financial records. Assist SEC Reporting and other departments with obtaining accounting data for external or internal reporting and audits. Comply with government regulations and internal controls (e.g., SOX) May assist other team members with the development and installation of accounting systems, methods, procedures and controls. Position may be assigned to specific accounting function (e.g., close/process, enterprise analysis, reporting/support) and may require additional or specific job duties related to assigned function which are not aforementioned. Internal/External Contacts: Liaison with and maintain productive working relationships with internal departments such as FIS, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Project Accounting, HR, Legal, Revenue Assurance, SEC Reporting, Tax, Government Finance & Compliance, etc, as well as external parties such as Deloitte and DCAA. Knowledge & Skills: Ability to perform data extraction and manipulation, analyze Financial data, and generate reports. Ability to analyze variances to budgets/forecasts/accruals, explain to Management, and create corrective action plan. Demonstrate proficiency in Finance and accounting relational databases (Costpoint, Cognos, HFM, Blackline) and Microsoft applications. Ability to work with numbers and complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. Ability to manipulate, interpret and analyze data in Excel. Strong analytical and organizational skills to oversee and balance multiple work assignments. Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Effective decision making and problem solving. Experience & Education: Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or in progress preferred. One (1) to Two (2) years of previous accounting experience preferred.
