Appearance and Expert Witness Coordinator The candidate will be responsible for the coordination of Contract Attorney appearances, expert witness engagement and deposition scheduling. Responsibilities: Ensures that all appearances are covered for the asbestos litigation team in Los Angeles, including last minute judgment calls in assigning attorneys to appearances that are continued and/or re-scheduled and need further coverage. Reports to the practice group Leader as to the availability and performance of Contract attorneys and reports directly to clients regarding progress on appearances, depositions, and case status. Reviews incoming offers of plaintiffs' expert depositions and determines (in conjunction with the partners) which experts will need to be deposed depending on type of case; communicates with opposing counsel regarding acceptance of deposition. Enters all appearances and expert witness depositions. Chairs weekly calendar meeting for the asbestos litigation team. Performs tasks and duties as required to support the Los Angeles toxic tort practice including monitoring and downloading of E-served Lexis documents. Has a billable hour requirement of 1500 hours annually. Work primarily with the asbestos litigation practice group attorneys, Paralegals, docket clerks and Contract attorneys.

Undergraduate degree preferred. Paralegal Certificate is required. Previous experience as a Litigation Paralegal or case Assistant in toxic tort litigation is required. Knowledge of docketing and court rules is required. Excellent Customer Service skills are required. Should have an advanced proficiency in the areas of communication (both written and verbal). Proficiency with MS Office and Word and knowledge of Elite required.
